Jagannath Puri: RathYatra 2021, Atharanala bridge Puri: Atharnala bridge is the most recognized place at the entrance of Puri.  The bridge over the Muthiya River, which flows out of Puri, is of great religious significance.  It is believed that those who cross this bridge are liberated from the chakras of the world at once and cross the Bhavsagar.

Rathyatra will be held in Puri on 12th.  Due to the Koro period, the Rath Yatra will not be crowded this year as well and Lord Jagannath will go from Puri temple to Mata Gundicha temple with a small number of devotees along with his brother Balbhadra and sister Subhadra.

The vision of Lord Jagannath removes the sins of many births and the dominance of his abode is such that whoever enters his realm is like heaven.

Puri's Atharnala bridge
Devotees believe that crossing this bridge is like crossing Vaitarani.  In addition, every devotee has a desire to pass this bridge (Atharanala bridge) to become God.

On the eve of Rathyatra, PM Modi never forgets this thing, sends a special thing every year

Recognition given by Lord Jagannath himself

Traditionally, Lord Jagannathji was offered prasad by Narendra Modi.  Like every year, this year too, Prasad was sent from Delhi to God by Prime Minister Modi.  Which was possessed by Lord Jagannathji.  The prasad was traditionally sent with mugs, cucumbers, pomegranates, jaggery, mangoes and dried fruits.

ભગવાન જગન્નાથનો ઇતિહાસ જાણો

Preserved from the Archaeological Survey of India, the 280-foot-long and 36-foot-wide Adharnala bridge was built in the 13th century.  The bridge was built by King Bhanu Deva of the Ganga dynasty.  The Muthia river was challenging to reach the Jagannath Temple.  So Bhanu Deva, the king of the Ganga dynasty, removed this problem by building a bridge over it.  Seeing this devotion of the king, the Lord appeared to the king in a dream.  God allowed this bridge to reach Himself.

A specimen of the ancient architectural style of the state of Odisha
Today, the bridge is a striking example of the ancient architectural style of the state of Odisha.  This is a beautiful example of the engineering technique of the time.  This fact proves that the bridge is still in use.  The bridge is named after the 18th because the bridge has 18 river crossings made of bricks.  And Nala means road.  The bridge is at the entrance of Puri and carries everyone who enters this holy abode of Lord Jagannath to the Lord.
