Leland Stanford and his wife, Jane Lathrop Stanford, lost their only child, Leland, Jr., to typhoid in 1884, they decided to build a university as the most fitting memorial, and deeded to it a large fortune that included the 8,180-acre Palo Alto stock farm that became the campus. Distribution of printed textbooks is done by Government level working organizations all over Gujarat and sold by them in District Distributor Textbook Retail which hires work distributors. Retailers are registered with the Mandal. Ahmedabad also has its own sales center in Ahmedabad. (Cell Depot, Godown No.9 under Asarwa Bridge, Ahmedabad - 380016, Phone 22133920). From this Cell Center textbook to any organization or any individual level retailing std. Textbooks can also be obtained from outside Gujarat by money order or bank draft.
