BHUPENDRA SINH CHUDASAMA PRESS CONFARANS

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday announced a detailed guideline for starting schools for students in Std 9 to 12 on a voluntary basis from September 21.  The school wishing to start academic work after a long break will have to keep thermal guns at the main entrance to measure the temperature of teachers and students.

Classes must be thoroughly sanitized before the school opens and 1% hypochlorite solutions, alcohol wipes and sanitizers must be kept.  Extensive cleaning of school complexes converted into quarantine centers will be required.

Schools will operate at 90 per cent capacity and online classes will continue.  Students of Std. 9 to 12 will have the option to get education virtually or by attending voluntarily.  The student will need parental written approval to attend school.  As per the suggestion of the ministry, it would be better for the schools to teach in open space instead of closed classes if the weather is good.  The canteen and mess inside the school will be closed.  Also, sports or cultural events cannot be organized.

Masks will be mandatory in every situation for students, teachers and non-academic staff.  Frequently touched items such as door handles, elevator buttons, stair railings, chairs, benches, accessories inside the washroom should be cleaned with a hypochlorate solution.
