Shortly after sending the message, a message will appear on the phone as shown in the photo below.  This message will contain all the details of the phone.  It will show the name of the manufacturer along with the IMEI number, both the information, the brand name and the model number of the phone.  You can compare these details to the phone to see if KYC is showing the same information.  The IMEI number was not tampered with if the information matched.  In that you can buy that old smartphone.
